Providing river views, African Safari Lodge in Grahamstown provides accommodations, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and barbecue facilities. Our experience at this lodge was hands down wonderful. The room was spacious&clean and had an amazing view to the river. The nature around was beautiful. The whole experience felt really private. We booked a guided tour and a game drive which was also very private. The ranger who ran the activities was simply wonderful. He shared his deep knowledge in flora & fauna, we really enjoyed our time with him. We saw a variety of animals, not only on the guided tours but as well as just walking around property. The value for money is just insanely good. +The food was delicious! Best wishes to Dean & Fay who really cared to make our time at the lodge memorable. Would love to come back. Thank you!

The 5-star Pumba Private Game Reserve lodge has views from a private wooden deck overlooking Lake Kariega or the African bush. This was an incredible and luxurious experience. The all inclusive price of meals and drinks meant that everything you could possibly expect was part of the package. Including minibar which is restocked twice a day while we were on our game drives. You definitely will not go home hungry. Three course meals, wines, sprits, soft drinks, snacks. The twice daily game drives were like being in a documentary. You don’t just see the wildlife, you learn their behaviours as well. You are assigned the same guide for the whole trip, our guide was Thomas, who kept track of what we’d seen and made sure we saw as much variety as possible. The information he shared was outstanding. The accomodation was exceptional. We stayed at the water lodge for two nights and extended our stay for a night. We had to move to the bush lodge for the extra night. It’s hard to say which was better. My partner liked the room in the bush lodge better, I preferred the room at the water lodge, but we both agreed that both rooms were outstanding. We also agreed that the water view at the water lodge was more spectacular. The water lodge staff and overall ambiance felt more intimate and personal. If we visited again we’d choose the water lodge. It was my first time on a safari and I was blown away. It was my partners 6th time visiting a game reserve, and hands down, this was the best experience they’d ever had.
